Hi megan, my sister is coming to uk from brisbane for a holiday, is there a good quilt shop in brisbane that she could purchase something for me that we cannot get in uk. This is only a thought and i may be way off the mark with the question. You just maybe able to help. Ttfn marianne
Hello, thankyou for your reply, its quite amazing you living in wollongong. Siobhan one of the rellies went to unni in woolongong and her boyfriend lives there now. The family farm in Cowra, it is a small world. The family coming next week went to school in sydney i think it was called Pimble girls school.
It sounds great going to the sydney quilt show, you will no doubt have a spend, material stalls i swear all have magnets attached to make us spend..smile. have a great time and tell me all about it, i love shows.
Good morning megan from the UK. Welcome to this wonderful forum, you will find everyone so helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. What part of australia are you from, we have had 3 separate lots of rellies from australia since february, only another 2 lots of 5 and 2 then its time for my holiday.....
I have just finished a dresden plate small quilt, i am very pleased with it. I struggle with putting them on the photos, i dont seem to be able to do it. My pics are in a programme called picasa, you may have heard of it, i keep trying. Lovely morning here to wake up to.
Thank you very much. I so glad to have someone from Australia as a friend. My DDIL lived in Australia before she married my son. I love to hear about her time there. It is fascinating to me to think that you are having winter while we have summer. I have three grandsons. I have spent this past week with 2 of my grands.
I just finished the top for an I Spy youth quilt. It was so much fun. After I finish one more youth top for another baby born in our church, I'll quilt it and post. I'm thinking about making a suduko quilt with the grands. I started one grandson on Suduko this week. I'm not great at them but find it relaxing to work on a puzzle at lunch or dinner time. I'm a widow so eating alone is fun.
I also love log cabins. I have only done a few starts never an entire quilt.
well yes and no....I have done a lot of blocks etc but have a 5 year old son who takes a lot of my time. Hopefully I will be able to get to it more once he begins Kindergarten in August! I am looking forward to that. I am currently working on a hexie project with The New Hexagon book - facebook Millefiore quilt along as well as a batik tile project. My desktop computer finally bit the dust so can't share a photo of them right now since they are all saved on that lol I have posted a photo of my progress on the hexie project in the Karen's UFO group here on this site though if you want to see it there....
I did several that are also in my photo album Maryam's Stuff if you want to see them. There were several of my friends in a group here on Quilt with Us as we were working on a scrap quilt called Sylvia's Bridal Sampler who were loving them so I ended up sending one to each. I will someday get back to making them now that I have collected some fabulous fabrics for them.
welcome 2 group you'll be coming back for shopping, show/tells, networking.. It took me a little while to learn the steps to getting around in this site.. I must pace myself not to spend too much on forum and nothing on my sewing.
You like paper piecing, that's what I'll be working on this wknd. Our guild had free giveaway table section, I picked up a house paper piecing, make some placemats see how it works out before making bigger project.
