Michelle, I am so sorry your poor little dog wasn't able to make it through his sickness. I know that you really love your pets and they are truly members of your family. I feel the same way about my dogs. I am sure your heart feels truly broken. Take care of yourself and know I will be sending healing thoughts your way.
Hi Michelle! I haven't had a chance to get to those blocks to finish them....but it's next on my list of "stuff to do"! I must finish the one I am doing for my elder daughter's graduation so I can get it off to the LAQ! I will definitely let you see the finished SS quilt! I absolutely love the fabrics/colors so no worry about that!
Hi Michelle, sorry it took me so long to respond about the Nutcracker tree skirt, but I didn't know you left me a message. Thank you for your kind words...it was fun to make. I didn't use a pattern (except for the tree quilt pattern at the center. I spent hours on the net (Google Images) searching for photos of the people in the cast. Then I downloaded them. I also rented the Royal London Ballet Company's CD - I liked the one with Nureyev, but when he dances the whole shoe revolves around him and that changes the story. I even froze the DVD at points to photograph the characters (Uncle Droselmeyer was my best shot and I used that). I also printed the figures (or parts of them) for the faces & arms, etc. - no way I could draw (or quilt) any of that. I used several methods of attaching the embellishments - you'll have to decide which are best for you. My Grand Niece & Niece loved it which was the entire goal. I hope this helps - I do work 1 full & 1 part time job, so it took me about 3 months to complete. I hope this helps....
I got the paisley fabric but can't find the gold. That quilt shop was out of it...do you have a strip of it left or 4 squares? Sorry I keep bothering you about it again and again but I would really like to make another snowball block....3 would be better but I would be happy with one. I would be happy to pay you for the fabric and s/h...
Nameer is doing really well. He actually took a nap in his own bed today without much of a fuss....so that is really something! We will be driving to Houston tomorrow to take his grandfather to his return flight back home. We will go to the big mall there called The Galleria, stay the night in a nice hotel, then in the morning go to the Houston Museum of Natural Science to see the Butterfly place...he seems pretty excited about that!
Hi Michelle! Thank you again for the beautiful SSA blocks! Do you still have any of the fabric? I was searching for it online but couldn't find any of it. If you could spare enough to make a snowball block or three, I would be so gratefu and would be happy to reimburse you for itl! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! xoxox
Michelle, I am making it one day at a time. I have decided to try and be joyous for the time I had Mr and think on the good things rather than think on the past weeks. It is hard sometimes especially when I opened a drawer the other day and there lay his black sweater that he always wears after grooming and in the winter. I lost it big time. I never know when something is going to hit me or dh and one of us will tear up or bawl. (I am the one bawling). You ladies on here have helped so much. You just will never know!! I am trying to keep busy, sewing, reading, etc. That helps too!! Plus I am loving on Precious, (Mr's sister) a bunch!!! and Lexi too, My sons lab who is living with us until he remarries. She is getting closer to me as each day passes because I am always here with her. She is a sweetheart. Here is a picture of Lexi with my grandsons on the boat. She loves to ride!!! Thank you for checking in on me!!!
I agree with you too about the money, they are worth every penny!!!!
Michelle you are so right, you can't replace your pet. They are each so different in their own way. Mr Man was one of a kind, he loved me so much as I loved him. I always thought females were closer to their masters but I learned through Mr that is not always the case. He never left my side. It is so lonesome without him. Thank you for your words of comfort, I appreciate you taking the time to send sweet thoughts and comments. Bless You!!
Hi Michelle, I have five flowers done and sewn together now, not much but I am so enjoying it! Thanks for starting the new discussion where we can put our pictures up. I am excited to see what everyone else is accomplishing, too!
Oh and Michelle I would love to see a picture of what you have done so far. I learnt something useful from the tutorial on this site. It is easier to join the outside hexagons before attaching it to the centre. Did my second flower this way and I could match the points much better.
Oh we are not that badly off Michelle. It's just a nuisance with the mail - one particular post office which seems to be a Bermuda triangle for mail. So we get ours delivered to our regular grocery store who holds it for us. It is very sweet of you to think of sending me heies!. I do have family in US but hate to keep asking for stuff. And it takes forever to get the stuff and I dont want to stop doing hexagons right now!
Good Morning! How is everything going there with you and your family? How is your DH doing after his surgery? Have you done many bags in the past couple of weeks? There are so many styles....I want to do a schlep bag.....they look so easy to make and could showcase some really neat blocks I think!
Well we heard back from USCIS regarding our adoption process. They are requesting more information and proof of previously submitted information.....we have 45 days to comply. Please pray for us that we can get all the things they want to their satisfaction! xoxox
Michelle....as a nurse you now that is not only about the patient but also about yourself...can't not take care of you... 'cause if you are not OK you're not going to be able to take care of your hubby....
So take care of him without forgetting to rest... I'm so happy for your DD and I can't wait to see the pictures... I can sense the pride in your words... ;-)
