It's me again. The moth is done on my embroidery machine. It is supposed to be a northern lights picture. You can see the pine trees and the shooting stars in the sky. You have to look for it, but it is there. I love to add embroidery to purses, quilts, etc.

Hi, Ronda. We are iced in. We got more sleet than anything. My daughter and her hubby are stir crazy and taking his 4 wheel drive truck into town. They are much younger and have more energy. I will for sure give them a list to bring me though. I was hoping the sun would come out, but not yet. We'll see. I'm working on a 9 patch in a mixture of blues, green, yellows and oranges. At least it looks a little sunny!! Hope you are having a good day. Stay in and stay warm and enjoy sewing.

Hi, Ronda. Thanks for checking out my page. I have looked at your pictures and it appears that we like a lot of the same stuff :). In regards to the quilt I made with the "retro" fabric, I bought the fabric at JoAnns early last summer. I will find my scraps and check to see from what line it is from. I came up with the quilt design myself. One of those design as you go projects....Keep me posted on what you are working on. I think I will take my laptop with me to the hospital since they have wireless connection. It keeps me from going nuts when I can't sleep during the night.

Hey Ronda, I just got your message on my e-mail that you got the instructions on the taggies when I went in to answer I couldn't see it all. They system has some glitches right now. If you said anything else or asked me any questions I cannot get into it right now. Sorry I haven't responded before now, but it just came up in my in-box. Have fun making them!!

Hi Ronda, you are welcome, you deserve them. And you know me and Civil War Fabric, I just love them!!! I wish there was such a thing as quilting fairies!! I want to do so much more than what I do. I feel so far behind. I have 3 quilts to be quilted and one that is being worked on by one of my co-board members on Home Bound Meals. I make the quilt tops to donate and she quilts them, then she give them back to me to bind. She is working on one now. I have to sandwich the Christmas quilt and she will start on it. I do quilt most of my quilts. I did not however, quilt my Southern Stars quilt. I drove to Hartford, Kentucky to a quilt shop called QuiltsRJewels. Jewel the owner quilted it for me. I wanted my SS done professionally and I sure am glad I did. She only charged me $65.00. You can get on line at quiltsrjewels.com and see her work. You do your own quilting don't you? You can get it all done, I have faith in you. I love your SS blocks and can't wait to see it put together. It is going to be gorgeous. I have been called on a lot to baby sit lately and when Beth goes back to work in two weeks after her maternity leave, I will be keeping Samuel on Thursdays. I wish I was up to it every day but I am not and I don't want to be tied down. We have been busy with ball games too. Drew's team won 1st Place for 7 & 8 year olds for the State in the Dixie Youth Baseball finals. I was so proud of their team because they were the underdogs and beat an unbeaten team twice. Boy what fun we had. We had that going on last week plus a really good friend of my sons and his wife dropped dead after a run a week ago yesterday. It was some week. Things have been a little calmer this week. I started a baby quilt last night and have it ready to bind, Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. I tied it off instead of quilting. It turned out cute. A girl at church is having a baby girl. Have a good Worship time tomorrow, God Bless You, Linda

Awesome Ronda, progress is a good thing. I am glad you got some things done. I want to see photos too :) I just started the moons - been out an about for a few hours and got my hair done then came home and took the dog for a walk. It's a little bit humid up here today although thus far it has been unseasonably cool for July so it has been beautiful indeed. I'll keep you posted with my progress... holds me accountable and all.

Hey Ronda, doing great in Maryland this morning. Still in my pjs but need to hit the shower soon - long overdue hair appointment at 1230. My 6-week class was officially over on Wednesday - Lisa did a happy dance over that one. The next few days I was just too burnt out to quilt. I am more rested now and that's what I've been doing since waking this morning. I signed up in the East Coast Quilts group for the Halloween block swap. It's just 4 and my goal is to finish them by end of day - guess we both have some quilting goals for the day. It's only 4 house blocks and I have them pieced by am adding an eerie full moon to it.

The southern blocks you have there look very nice. I probably would have signed up for that one. I hope you get the time to finish it so you can get back to the Egg Money quilt. I have two that need borders also my sweet sons keeps telling me not to pressure myself with his. What a fine young man he is turnning into. OK grl, Im gonna hold you accountable for finishing your projects today so I am going to check back on you! Have a blessed day!

A happy summer of quilting.

Ronda, I was perusing the site and saw you were from TN. I'll be heading to the Gatlinburg area for vacation this summer and a quick mapquest search told me you were about 45 minutes away. Do you happen to know of any quilt shops in the Gatlinburg area, afterall, shop hopping should be part of a gals vacation plans, yes? PS, love your quilts, and love the stained glass!

Yes it does sound like you are going to have a busy and productive weekend. You will look back on Tuesday and be happy for all the things you accomplished.

I like these color choices too!! The stripe material was what helped in the selection. I love the way they bounce off each other. The one in the Fons and Porter catalog is gorgeous!! I bought the fat quarters on Whittlesfabrics.com in the "Jacobean" collection and got them the other day they are gorgeous. I think I am going to use them in another quilt like this. You get 21 fat quarters for $25.00. You can't beat it!!! I ordered them on the internet Sunday night and got them in the mail Tuesday!! They threw in an extra fat quarter to boot. I bought a few other things too.

Sounds like a wonderful vacation. Very restful but fun. I miss the ocean, I hope to go again someday soon. Have a great Mem Day!! Blessings, Linda

Hi Ronda, thanks for the compliment on my Southern Stars. I just love it. The quilt (actually I'm making 2) is I think the name is Stripes and Squares. I have a pic of the top without the border. I have the border on and the sashing is quilted but I have yet to put the paisley's on it. It is very easy and fun, just a lot of straight sewing. How was Vac?

Hi, Ronda. WOW! Your quilting is beautiful. You deserve the celebration time for finishing the top. It is so beautiful. I really like your 4 blocks - I have the kit. I look at all that fabric and all the cutting instructions and put it back up. I need to get over it and work on it. I am trying to figure out how I am going to quilt (or maybe have someone else do it) the purple quilt that I made for my mom. Thanks for sharing with me. Have a great day.

Hey girl, good to hear from you, lucky you, get to go on vacation. I hope you have a blast. Yum, the food sounds great and so does the beach. I had a trip to fla planned this month but with Beth (dil) due at any time I can't leave. She looks like she is ready to pop.

I have another quilt shop you can get to know on a personal level. It is whittlesfabrics.com They are in Kentucky and have gone live on line. They have great prices and get it shipped out quickly. They have some gorgeous fabrics.

Have you guys been getting the rain like we have. The last two mornings my tile floor in the basement has been covered with worms. YUCK!!! Most all of them are dead but I've never seen anything like it. Even the worms are drowning!!! lololol

Have fun on your vacation and I'll talk to you when you get back. Maybe my Southern Stars will be back from the quilters by then. Blessings, Linda

Your work is lovely also. Thanks. I would rather have a dog that is dumb as a box of rocks than a mean aggressive one. I'm off to my son's school for his ROTC award ceremony. Last year he got his Varsity Letter for ROTC. Such a suprise.
I'm busy making ornaments for my web site. Expect it to explode as Christmas gets closer. Sold quite a few recently for mothers day.
Take Care

Ronda, thanks for the advise to go to The Cherry Pit in Sevierville. I bought 2 patterns and some cherry fabric. The owner and her husband were both very friendly and helpful.
