Hi Judith, I haven't seen you on QWU in awhile.  I hope all is going well with you. Many of the old timers. ( not in age, lol) don't seem to come around anymore.  If you get a minute stop by and let us know how your doing.  Your missed.

Well I see the snow hasn't found you.  We had three straight days of snow, starting last Saturday and finally some blue sky yesterday.  We got about a good 20 inches of the stuff.  We were ready for spring!!

I thought only our guild had the no volunteer syndrome. I am taking a break from it as it came to the point where I could think of more reasons NOT to go than to go.  Basically I think they just wore me out.

I plan on finishing my third quilt of valor today.  I just need to bind it and sew the "presentation" case for it. My husband was in the A.F. for 20 years and he really likes it when I do the QoV's.

I must say, it is sad when guild members don't support their largest money making event of the year. We have had that here also.  However, the guild had so many questions about missing a year- they are back on track, and the community seems to be supporting it more now then in the past. I think they didn't realize how much the community liked the show until they didn't have one.

I've been thinking of you.  How is your Montana winter going this year? Life in Eagle River, Alaska is quite tame.  Last year we had a record snow fall year, this year we have about 5 inches on the ground.  However, I'm still looking forward to spring and summer.  This year I will be able to go out with my husband on weekends as my mother died in December - she was 100.6 years old at the time. She died here at my house.  She got the shingles and just couldn't beat it and just gave up eating. It was really stressful.  I hope you are doing well. I see you turned 65 in January, I turn 65 this month. At present I'm sewing old Connecting Threads kits I've had for years. I'm taking a break from large projects for awhile.

Hello Judith!  Went to the Eureka quilt show Saturday.  What a crowd of people!  And so many quilts!  Had no idea.  We drove up 37 from Idaho (bought a summer home near Sandpoint recently) and marveled at Lake Koocanusa that goes for miles and miles.  Then missed the turnoff going home and hit the breaks when we saw the border station and realized we were headed into Canada! LOL!  Just a beautiful day, lots of beautiful quilts.  Really enjoyed it.

Hi Judith, How is your winter going?  We are short 6 inches of snow to make an all time record in the Anchorage/Eagle River area. (Alaska)  I'm really hoping it's gone by May.  If it melts too fast I'm sure there will be many flooded basements. (Snow is in the forecast for the end of the week.) I've been going to PT for a frozen left shoulder, making sewing large projects painful.  It's getting better.  This getting older is for the birds!  At least we have lots of sunlight now, our short dark days are over!  YEAH

Hi Judith, I received an email saying I you'd left a message but for some reason I didn't get it. Lately my computer seems to be monitoring my CT messages--some arrive, some don't. Please give it another try or email me barbara@bgmysteries.com

Has any of you tried making the diamond log quilt? I would love to try that one. Where would I get the Pattern?

Hey Judith, I hope you and all those guys of yours are having a good start for 2012.  A happy and healthy, properous new year.  How is Bernie doing in the snow and is Cat still hiding in the loft?

I also want to say a "Happy Birthday" to you and I hope that your DH and the others show you a queen sized good time.  I hope you get everything you are wishing for and more.

Take care of the guys and I will chat more later. I haven't been being on the site as much lately but now that the new year has arrived, I hope to get back on more.

Merry Christmas!  I've been thinking about you.  We have had a very strange December, lots of wind and rain and warm temps.  November we had lots of snow and below average temperatures.  We wish it would just stay in the perfect winter temps of the 20's.  I was wondering how much snow do you have?  Are you working on any counted cross stitch projects? I have kept busy taking care of my Mom who will be 100 in May and quilting.  I need to do a king size quilt for a wedding in Feb.

Don't envy you that weather, but you've got the right idea for what to do on a day like that.  The weather gurus here are predicting we'll start getting our cold blasts around Thanksgiving.
