Hello Mary Agnes, well, we have arrived home after the most amazingly exhilarating experience of my life. The luxury, places visited, people we met and the visit to new York was amazing, words seem so inadequate to describe it. We visited the memories to the twin towers, how wonderfully it has been depicted to such a terrible event, we visited many of the sites, weather was cold, but still enjoyed a walk in central park. Hope you are well and enjoying your hobby.
Mary Agnes, thanks for reaching out and remembering those of us not on FB. Sounds like fun but I'm not one to travel. I am also not one of those who cannot get away. Where there's a will there's a way, I just don't travel much at all. I'm sure it will be fun. I enjoyed reading about your get-together with Mari, and Cindy, and Ranchmom. I'd love to hear about the retreat as well and all the fun I'm sure will take place :)
I understand there is a tour of NY at night, we will be shown all the lights and the little up buildings.
We leave on the 6th, so it would be appreciated if you could let us know the weather situ. If you come to UK I would be happy to give any knowledge to enhance your stay on our little island, so much smaller than the USA, but it takes longer to travel from North to south,me cause of the road systems.
Thankyou for your extremely informative reply, there is certainly lots for us to consider doing. We like anything cultural, historic, shopping and a pity the quilt shop has closed down, I cannot resist quilt shops too. We do lots of walking here, so that is no problem for us, we always wear sensible walking shoes, but Thankyou for the reminder. I think the empire state building sounds a possibility, maybe a museum, the weather will denote what we do to some extent, but we love seeing anything different to
Hello Mary Agnes, I was wondering if you can tell me what the weather situ is like in new York. I will be leaving UK 6the january on the Queen Elizabeth ship, we will be on the start of a world cruise, and the 1st stop is NY we will be there for 2 days, do u have any recommendations for a must see, it's always good to have local input. Much appreciated
Good morning Mary, I noticed you r from New York and wondered if you have a view on my question. I am leaving UK cruising via NY we will be away for 4 months on a world cruise, there are many tours for us to book when in port, I wondered if you have a must see that we could consider, there is an evening tour that looks exciting, I would appreciate your view. Thanks Marianne
Mary Agnes...We have an appointment already! DH looked up the phone# online and called our closest Costco. Chatted a few minutes with a very helpful lady and he is scheduled for his hearing test on Feb. 2nd. She said they could save him several thousand dollars!
So, with driving instructions and map in hand, we will journey to East Peoria to check out Costco! Fun,fun! Will keep you posted.
Good Afternoon! Thank you so much for all the information. I read your note to DH and he said, "We're going to have to check that out!" If the price you paid was for 2 hearing aids, that is a fantastic bargain. We are fortunate to have excellent insurance with the Humana Medicare ins. we have. We get our prescription from their "Right Source" mail order pharmacy, and the prices are great for us.
Next on the agenda for me is cataract surgery. DH did wonderfully with his, and you did also, if I remember correctly. So, I imagine at my next eye appt. in May, we will make plans for surgery. Or perhaps sooner so that I don't have to be without glasses when I want to be vacationing!
Thank you again. I'll let you know what we find out.
Hi, I'm back..struggling with this so that I get it right. Still very new to me, too.
My cell phone # is.. 774 571 1699. I usually keep my phone on. And I text msg. Often.
My speech on the phone is not always 100% clear, due to all the surgeries that I've had.
But, I do still like to talk. Okay then.. will keep in touch, and hopefully meet in Scarborough
Anne..ps. drive safe...look out for the other person.
