I hear from Debbie now and again. She is doing pretty good these days. There are still some affects, mainly in her legs, from the cancer, but she is walking a lot and is involved with her family and grandson a lot these days. I'm not sure where she is at with sewing. I don't think she is doing a lot with it at this time, but she seems happy and enjoying her life right now. I have no idea if we'll see her back on QWU or not. Perhaps that season is over for her. I do see posts from her now and then on Facebook.
June - thank you for thinking of me. I have been busy, just today returning (well, almost) from 10 days in Arizona. I'm in Oregon tonight and will drive home tomorrow. I hope to post this week. I just don't have a lot of time to be online and post these days with all the stuff I'm doing with my "job". Finding sewing time is difficult too. I do have to do a costume for Bailey for Halloween - Elsa, from Frozen (all the rage this year). I'm hoping to finish Jenna's quilt too.
We wanted a name that was not too common but still was able to command respect. I have always loved the name Reagan. When she was born it just seemed to fit. I have a friend that has a boy Reagan also. It is interesting that it is not gender specific. It was in both sections of the baby name book that I read. :)
In other news, my husband loved my daughters rag quilt so much he has asked that I use his old college t shirts to make one. I offered to do a regular tshirt quilt but he likes the ragged edges. Have you ever done a project like that? I am thinking I will do log cabin for me and tshirt quilt for him! Putting my new machine through its paces already. :)
Thanks for the warm welcome! Everyone is so helpful. I have been looking at log cabin quilts and its definitely on my list of things to make! I think my local shop is getting ready to have a class... maybe I will sign up.... look forward to talking to you soon.
Pet screen is a flexible plastic mesh click here to see samples that they actually use for screen doors, etc. that are pet friendly. They are in lots of colors and it sews great. I've made several bags with it - good for a swim or beach bag.
We don't exactly drive by your place, but we do pass south of you on our way out to South Dakota quite often. I have driven highway 2 a couple times going back and forth between Mobridge,SD and Negaunee MI, too. Lovely area up there.
wow you have a lot of quilt shops up that way. when I lived in green bay there are a lot of shops there too. I lived about 8 blocks from one where I used to walk to in the summer time. the bus stop was near so I took the bus there but down here there is no bus that I can take out to a quilt shop here. I hope to get a car soon. I usually talk my sister into taking me to some shops. she hand quilts she hasn't adjusted to the new machines. I gave her a old singer machine and she likes it but she still hand quilts the old fashioned way. I do like to travel when I have a car. where you live up there I have been there many years ago. beautiful country.
your quilts and wall hangings are so pretty. I like that forest one. it is on my bucket list to do a landscape wall hanging one of these days.
hope you are doing good. I think this cold I have is finally starting to go away. I wasn't sneezing so much today. so it gave my nose a rest. I wish I could take some Zicam but my doctor said no cause it would interfere with some of the other meds I am on. oh well hope you have a nice nite.
Thank you for the comments about Methotrexate! Having only taken 3 doses, and being in a horrid set of fronts for RA, I'm also not having any more that the usual aches. I hope it continues, and that I'll have a good result like yours.
June, thanks for your comment, It will take some time for me to feel better. such a long road ahead of me,,I just know I need to see God thru all this. I do know this is what He wants in my life, so be it. So here I rest. Thanks again. Joanna
June - I did the pattern on my EQ 6 program. Do you have EQ? If not I can send you the blocks that makes up the pattern. If you send me your email I'd be happy to share it with you. My email is elder(dot)barg@gmail(dot)com
Thank you so much for commenting on the doll clothes that I made! I really appreciate it. I must say that your work is just fabulous! I look forward to getting to know you better! Have a great week! Rusty : )
When I saw your message on the fire I thought you must be nearby. My daughter lives in Maple, we go to Lake Nebagaman often. Are you in a quilt guild or group? We just started one in Ashland a few years ago. There is a member from Lake N - Barb Yox.
June: Thanks for asking....I have had a rough time of this radiation stuff. I think Sunday I may have turned a corner to the feeling better side. My meds are kicking in and I am off the sofa and back to my own bed. It's not that radiation is hard... it's the location they are zapping and all the organs they are hitting and how those organs are reacting. So nice of you to ask...you are so thoughtful. Thank you.
