My days ARE PRETTY SOLITARY BECAUSE i LIVE IN A VERY SMALL TOWN IN FARM COUNTRY AND I DO NOT DRIVE. as you can see, my neuro cnditionmakes my little finger flirt with the caps-lock key. I really like the idea for communicating on line but my typing is terrible because I have trouble controlling my fingers.

Hi! It is true that I like bright colors, but also deep rich colors. I also do a lot with applique but I make my on. Currently I am working on a quilt for my grandaughter. It is taking me forever. She tolme she wanted pink and purple with ladybugs and butterflies. She likes bright colors, interestingtextures and interesting techniques. I have combined machine quilting (on my home machine) flower design by machine, applique, multi layered applique, hand embroidery, machine freehand embroidery, buttons and whatever else crosses my mind.
I made her a hanging for her crib when she was a baby, much smaller but similar techniques. She loved to look at and touch, rub her hands over and look at all the different textures. She is just as fasinated in dance, sports and art. Her mother says her personality is all my fault (mom is a personnel director and dad is a financial analyst.
Hope to finish and give her the quilt this weekend.

Sorry I did not reply sooner but I somehow overlooked this site. I have found that when I am passionate about something I am doing, I don't notice my limitations. I once saw a man who's hands were crippled up so bad with arthritis that he could not write and hold his silverware. However, he was passionate about the piano and when he sat down to play hi hands slowlu uncurled and he felt no pain. When asked how it worked he replied "I don't know but when I play I become the music".
Maybe we could become the quilt.
I attended a conferance of researchers trying to explore this disease and entered several trials.
If itworks, I'll not question it. I am in a clinical trial being done at UCLA and they are trying to see if once the analitical side of the brain is damaged, that the creative side can learn to do these things, however in the creative's manner.
Good Morning Patricia Hope you are well?? I am doing fine. I haven't heard from you for a while?? Are you of? So what are you working on? I been working on A 9patch and quilts for kids. So are you getting readly for the warmer weather and Easter with the grandkids? well let me know how you are doing? yolanda
Hi Pat! I've been gone from this site for a couple of months, and only just now noticed that you wrote on my wall!! *blush* Sorry for the delay in getting back with you.
I live in the Brighton area, and my daughter lives in Fenton, which as you know, is not far from Flint at all. North Carolina seems like a much warmer climate, especially considering the icy cold winter we've been going through lately. It's good that you've moved there!
I'm back with the Slackers again, and since I wasn't sewing at all during my hiatus, you are probably way past me with the number of blocks done. :)
